Aces win by the odd goal in 7 against tough opponents Coundon Court

Today's game saw aces travel away to coundon the weather was very wet but luckily stopped just as we arrived, coundon had previously been a very tough team for us to play against losing all 3 of the previous encounters,
The game started very cagey on our part showing them to much respect and the first 10 minutes and saw us chasing the game and second to every ball, things changed when debutant ben blakley was pushed into midfield and broke powerfully up the field to slip harry Henry-robey through who's shot was well saved only for the rebound to fall to Ben who slotted home to take the lead 0-1,coundon stepped up again and with some slick play cut through our defence equalise 1-1 this now was a very well fought game with both teams creating chances but neither could find a goal so went in drawing at half time 1-1
Second half lads were eager to carry on where we left of but unfortunately conceded a corner kick which was delivered high over our players to coundon at the back post unchallenged to head home 2-1
Aces now using there extra man in midfield broke well up the left with Hayden Whitley who played a great 1-2 with Corey Richard's to take a touch into the area and smash one in 2-2,
Unfortunately ambleside switched off and made it hard for themselves giving the opposition too much space in midfield even after having the extra man and coundon again took the lead 3-2.
Instead of letting coundon build on there lead aces regrouped and took the game to them this time Hayden provided for Corey Richards who showed his strength and determination to score past a stricken keeper into the bottom right corner. 3-3
The game was now up for grabs late on and coundon was now finding it hard to keep up with the aces who now smelt blood and starting to get in there groove started winning every tackle and ball even when a loose ball looked like it was going out Ben gentles raced to keep it in playing a first time ball upto kyan anderton who still had alot to do burst into the box to finish coolly and win us the game 3-4,
Although aces were not at there best today for long periods the lads showed there quality and desi
re to keep going to the end and show what a great side there becoming still unbeaten with 3 wins out of 4.
Well done lads COYA!!!!!
